He worshipped Lord Mahavishnu of Vajranakha and invoked Bhadrakali Devi, who resided in a pillar within his very home. Devi was Kshipraprasada — the one who arrives the moment her name is called. Devotees came broken and left healed. Evil spirits, black magic — nothing stood a chance.
